Evans & Douglas Byrd Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Millard Evans Byrd ’71 and Douglas Ashby Byrd ’75, the late, Ms. Barbara Womack established the endowed scholarship for Evans and Douglas Byrd. The scholarship is granted to a financially deserving student, in grades 6 through 12, who displays a strong sense of character and shows satisfactory academic achievement. The recipients will be selected by the Superintendent in consultation with two additional members of the administration and approved by the Dean of the College of Human Sciences and Education or his/her designee and awarded in accordance with LSU policies and procedures. The scholarship application may be obtained through the Admission’s Office or emailing email@example.com. Each year the application process has a May deadline. Ms. Womack established this endowment in memory of two close friends, Evans and Douglas Byrd. This gift will last a lifetime and provides a wonderful way for the U-High family to pay tribute to alumni Millard Evans Byrd and Douglas Ashby Byrd forever. Ms. Womack invites others to donate to this fund. “There is no greater gift I give myself. I am pleased to be able to recognize such dear friends and offer the treasurer of a great U-High education to a deserving student” stated Ms. Womack.
